Satellite Communication
The goal of Satellite communication is to provide information about satellite communication systems .It develops the concept for Geostationary satellite, LEO, MEO , CDMA, Orbital parameter, Iridium Satellite etc .This course ware introduces the basic concepts of Satellite communication by use of animations, simulation and examples.
Unit 1: Introduction to Satellite
The objective of this unit is to learn about Different Type of Satellite, Satellites Orbit, Frequency Band Designations,Regulatory Process for Satellite Communication.
Unit 2: Orbital Parameters
The objective of this unit is to learn about Orbital Parameters, Geometry of GSO Links, and Elevation Angle to Satellite.
Unit 3: Satellite Subsystems
The objective of this unit is to learn about Satellite Subsystems, Ground Segment, Tracking, Telemetry, Command and Monitoring, Satellite Payload, Frequency Translation Transponder.
Unit 4: Link Budget
The objective of this unit is to learn about RF Link of Satellite, Antenna Gain, Basic Link Equation for Received Power, System Noise, Noise Temperature of Passive Element, Radio Noise, Figure of Merit, Carrier-to-Noise Ratio, Fixed Antenna Gain, Fixed Antenna Size Link, Budget Calculation of Uplink and Downlink, Mobile Satellite Channel, Fading.
Unit 5: Satellite Multiple Access Technique
The objective of this unit is to learn about Satellite Multiple Access, Access Options in a Satellite Communications Network, Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA), Time Division Multiple Access, Code Division Multiple Access, and Pseudorandom (PN) Sequence.
Unit 6: Earth Station Technology
The objective of this unit is to learn about Earth Station, Earth Station Design Considerations, Support Systems, Antenna Tracking, Mono-Pulse Method, Frequency Translator, GEO Launch Mission.
Unit 7: Operational Satellites
The objective of this unit is to learn about INTELSAT, Global Positioning System (GPS), Triangulation from Satellites, Measuring Timing, INMARSAT, Iridium Satellite Network, Globalstar, Thuraya.
Unit 8: Satellite Applications
The objective of this unit is to learn about Satellite TV, Introduction to DBS, Introduction to GBS System, Introduction to S-DARS, Satellite Phone, and Satellite Internet.
